Omari Newton Speaks to Middle School Students About Black History Month

On February 8, Omari Newton from Overture with the Arts, spoke with our Middle School students about Black History Month. His Grade 7 presentation, "Unpacking the N-Word," educated students on the history of the word and why this term continues to perpetuate hate. Omari's presentation to Grade 8 students, "Tracking Black Canada - Ladies of the Movement," highlighted influential women of the Civil Rights Movement in Canada.
