The Grade 11 Entrepreneurship class was asked by
Bread and Beyond to help ramp up their organisation. On December 9, the class presented their research and plans to one of the Founding Director of Bread and Beyond, to Kirstie Jagoe, on how her non-profit could improve. The first group focused on how social media could be utilized to recruit volunteers and partners. Others provided information on how to help the organisation keep volunteers safe. Another group presented their
research on CNESST rules, and with help of Selwyn's Human Resources Manager, Ms. Notari, offered guidance on how best to manage volunteers. Finally, two groups of boys presented their ideas for how the non-profit could partner with different foundations to increase their funding to aid in the reduction of food insecurity. The boys really enjoyed the project, and Bread and Beyond was excited with the ideas that were presented. We look forward to seeing them in action as we follow Bread and Beyond going forward! Thank you to Ms. Jagoe for her invaluable collaboration in making this multi-dimensional learning experience possible. - Mr. Watson, Senior School Social Studies teacher
