Owen and Kwena Return to Share Indigenous Culture with Students

On March 21, Owen Mayo (Kanien’kehá:ka) and Kwena Bellemare-Boivin (Atikamekw) returned to Selwyn for the fourth year in a row with their children Mahikan and Nehirah to share traditional Indigenous dances and songs. Elementary and Middle School students watched Owen and Kwena perform and asked many questions. Through sharing stories and answering the students' questions, Owen and Kwena offered our students a meaningful learning experience.
