Community Gathers for Alex Moore '14 Olympic Watch Party

On the evening of August 8, the Selwyn House community gathered to watch Alex Moore '14 compete in the 86kg Men's Freestyle wrestling at the Paris Olympics. The viewing event, filled with cheering spectators, raised over $1300 in donations to support this young athlete upon his return from representing his country at the 2024 Olympics. On August 8 and 9, Alex faced tough competition, beginning with a match against the eventual Gold Medalist, Magomed Ramazanov from Bulgaria, which ended in a 12-2 defeat. Because his match was against the future Gold Medalist, Alex was granted another match the following day to qualify for Bronze against Javrail Shapiev from Uzbekistan, where he lost 6-1. We are incredibly proud of Alex's dedication and pursuit of excellence in his passion. He is an inspiration for all Gryphons.
