Bread and Beyond

Bread and Beyond is a registered charity which works to connect local communities with shelters working with people in a homeless or vulnerable situation in Montreal. Our core activity is making and delivering fresh, nutritious sandwiches to 8 shelters in Montreal.  A robust network of volunteers make sandwiches at home, school or their workplaces following our strict kitchen hygiene guidelines and deliver to drop off locations in NDG, TMR and the West Island. We make sandwiches that will be filling and inexpensive to prepare. PB&J or ham and cheese are our most requested. The pathways created by making sandwiches connect us to the shelters and the people they serve and allow us to understand and work to meet their changing needs. Our ‘Beyond' programs include the Essentials Boxes- 5 boxes of essential kitchen  bedroom, bathroom and grocery items given to people transitioning out of homelessness- and Clear out The Closet a monthly drive targeting items living un-used in your closet but desperately needed by shelters - backpacks, t-shirts, running shoes.
