Senior School Students Explore Canada's 60-Year Role in Cyprus Peacekeeping in Ottawa

On September 24, five Selwyn students from Grades 8-11 participated in a commemoration of Canada's role in the Cyprus Peacekeeping mission, which has been going on for the last 60 years. The boys attended a panel discussion with four senior officers who are veterans of the Cyprus mission, had lunch with another veteran, with whom they discussed the history of the conflict, and finally got to tour the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The boys enjoyed the day, and learned a lot about this often ignored part of Canada's history. - Mr. Mark Watson, Senior School Social Science teacher
