Alongside Chris was David McKinnon ’94, whose perfectly timed pass to Ben Wearing '94 resulted in a crucial touchdown that helped seal their place in history.
During the 46th Annual Old Boys' Montreal Reunion on October 4, this legendary team was honoured in a ceremony that brought them back into the spotlight. Mike Maurovich, the Head Coach of the 1993 Championship team and now Director of Athletics, took the stage alongside Mike Downey, then-Defensive Coordinator and now Headmaster, to reflect on not just the victory but the journey and the lasting impact of those players. Both coaches shared heartfelt speeches about the character and determination that carried the team to victory, emphasizing that it was about much more than the championship game—it was about the lifelong connections forged on the field and within the Selwyn House community.
The next day, October 5, the celebration continued at the Homecoming Games, where the Old Boys from the 1993-1994 team stepped onto the field for a special ceremonial kickoff.
