Electrifying Lessons in Grade 11 Environmental Science

On April 7, Ms. Egan's environmental science class hosted a special guest speaker: Selwyn's own Grade 11 and 12 physics teacher: Mr. Tom Downey. He shared some "shocking" demonstrations using electrostatics. The students not only learned the scientific principles involved in the movement of electrons, they learned how to do engaging demonstrations. They will soon use these same skills as they teach elementary students all about static electricity.
