Ms. Corbie Leads Educational Workshops on Microaggressions and Bias

For the last three years Ms. Corbie has been teaching the Grade 7 ERC curriculum. Two years ago, she introduced a unit on "Microaggressions, Bias and Privilege." Word spread that students found the unit informative and beneficial, leading to Ms. Corbie being asked to speak to Grade 7 students and staff at Westwood Junior High School as well as to Grade 5 students at Birchwood Elementary School, both in Saint-Lazare. She spoke about what microaggressions are, the messaging behind them, and how to deal with them. A special thank you to Marianne Brownie, teacher at Birchwood, and Anna Haller, principal at Westwood Jr. for making time for these important workshops.
