Grade 11 Physics Students Explore Light Refraction in Dazzling Display

During the month of May, the Grade 11 Physics students had the opportunity to not only 'bend their brains' but also bend light! While studying optics they used refraction blocks to study the effects of sending light from one medium through another. As they varied the angle of their laser they witnessed light bending as it passed from air into glass. This phenomena helps us to understand the formation of rainbows, sundogs and halos around the moon. An 'enlightening' class indeed! - Mr. Tom Downey, Senior Science Department Head
