World Scholar's Cup - London 2023

Seven Selwyn House Scholars attended a Global Round of The World Scholars Cup from July 26-31 at University College London in London, England.

WSC is an academic event featuring debating, collaborative writing, a challenge and a bowl where scholars test their knowledge of the program’s curriculum. Fun community events include a scavenger hunt, an (un)talent show, a cultural fair, and the Scholars’ Ball.

After qualifying at the regional round this spring, Middle School students Jacques Hu, Arthur Marchand, Andy Song, Leo Huang, and Erwan Arzel attended their first Global Round where they met students from all over the world. Jacques Hu was Selwyn’s top Junior Scholar.

This was the third Global Round for Senior School students Shen Hudon and Edward Kovac who partnered with Royal West student Anya Figlarz-Grassino. With several medals, trophies, and a top-five overall finish, the seniors had a personal best performance at this event. They have been invited to the Tournament of Champions at Yale University next fall.

Congratulations to the entire team!
