Omari Newton Engages Middle School Students in Meaningful Black History Month Discussions

On February 7, Omari Newton from Overture with the Arts, spoke with our Middle School students about Black History Month. His Grade 7 presentation, "Unpacking the N-Word," educated students on the history of the word and why this term continues to perpetuate hate. Omari's presentation to Grade 8 students, "A is for Allyship," highlighted key lessons and actions that we all can take to be allies to others.
