Obituary - Dr. George Eric Marler '47

Dear Classes of 1946, 1947, 1948, and current and former staff,

 

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Dr. George Eric Marler '47 who died on December 10, 2023 in New York.

 

Dr. Marler attended Selwyn House School from 1938 to 1947. His father, the late Hon. George Carlyle Marler, also attended Selwyn House, from 1910-1914. Eric served as Head Prefect and received the Lucas Memorial Medal. He also excelled in writing, winning first prize in an essay competition, and was a master debater, winning a debating competition in his senior year. In addition, Eric was an accomplished athlete playing hockey, soccer. He was team captain of the Senior cricket team.
