February 28 is National Pink Shirt Day. This day originated as a grassroots movement in 2007 when a student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The following day, his classmates wore pink in a show of support. This act of kindness has been raising awareness ever since, and Selwyn House School is proud to participate in this anti-bullying initiative by inviting its staff and students to wear pink for the day. In doing so, we hope to tangibly reinforce the importance of Selwyn's Veritas, especially being #truetoyourcommunity, emphasizing the significance of respect, inclusivity, kindness, and compassion. #pinkshirtday
