Pre-U Class Explores Queen's University: A Day of Life on Campus

On September 20, the entire Pre-U class embarked on a university exploration trip to Queen’s University. The day began with an engaging lecture by Dr. Peter Taylor from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, sparking lively discussions on the strategic timing of pulling a goalie in hockey. After lunch in one of the main dining halls, students participated in a guided campus tour, gaining valuable insight into student life. The visit concluded with faculty-specific tours and information sessions in Business, Engineering, Science, and Performing Arts, allowing students to explore their academic interests and ask detailed questions. Despite a packed schedule, many found time to explore the campus and town, and some reconnected with Selwyn Old Boys currently studying at Queen’s. On the return trip, the bus was filled with reflective discussions about university life, student experiences, and program choices, with many planning more campus visits to find their best-fit institutions. - Ms. Stephanie Lynam, Pre-University Coordinator and Ms. Jennifer Peterman, College & University Advisor
